Neuma's transcription engine, inside Ableton Live and FL Studio. Drop a song, preview the detected notes, select the bars you want, and drag them onto a track as MIDI.
The beta installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". Signing is planned before the stable release.

Install and load
Run the installer and restart your DAW. Neuma shows up as a VST3 audio effect: put it on any track.

Sign in once
Type your email, then the 6-digit code we send you. Your songs and your monthly quota are shared with the web app.

Drop, select, drag
Drop an audio file, wait 2 to 3 minutes for the transcription, select the part you want on the waveform, and drag the amber bar into your project.
What it does
- Same engine as the web app: the piano is isolated from the mix first, then transcribed.
- Selection snaps to the detected beats, and the exported clip starts exactly where you drop it.
- Preview before you commit: hear the original piano or the MIDI version, in a loop.
- Export both hands, or only the left or the right one · transpose up to 12 semitones either way.
- Your library follows you: a song transcribed on the web opens in the plugin, and the other way round.
What to expect
This is a beta, and we'd rather tell you where the edges are. It runs on Windows only for now: macOS and Logic (AU) come later. Transcription needs an internet connection, because the heavy lifting happens on our servers.
The notes are practice-grade: exact enough to build on, not engraving software. You'll sometimes fix a note or flip a hand, and the plugin makes that cheap to do before you drag.
The free plan transcribes 3 songs a month with every note visible. Dragging MIDI out is a Premium feature, like on the web: see pricing.
Questions
Does it work in FL Studio?
It's a standard VST3, and FL Studio loads it like any other effect. Most of our beta testing happens in Ableton Live, so if something misbehaves in FL, write us and we'll fix it.
Do I need a Neuma account?
Yes, a free one. Transcription runs on our servers, and the account carries your library and your monthly quota across the plugin and the web app.
Is the MIDI mine to keep?
Yes. What you drag out is an ordinary .mid file in your project. It stays yours, even if you cancel your subscription. What you do with it is your responsibility, like with any sampling workflow.
When macOS and Logic?
After the Windows beta stabilizes. Logic needs the AU format and Apple notarization, which we'll do in one pass with the macOS build.
Why a beta?
