Terms of Service

1. The service

Neuma ("the Service"), operated by David Niederhauser ("we"), analyzes audio recordings you provide and displays the detected piano notes, hands and chords for your personal practice. Analysis is performed by automated systems and may contain errors; the Service includes tools to correct them.

2. Your content and your responsibility

You only upload audio that you own, have licensed, or may lawfully use for private practice under applicable law (such as the private-use exceptions of Swiss and EU copyright law). You are solely responsible for the files you upload and for how you use the results. The Service does not accept links to streaming platforms; you provide your own files.

3. Personal practice only

Everything the Service produces from your uploads (note displays, chord sheets, and any future exports) is for your personal, private practice. You may not publish, distribute, sell or publicly share these outputs. Nothing you analyze is ever made public by the Service; your library is private to your account.

4. Ownership

You keep all rights you hold in the audio you upload. We claim no ownership of the analysis outputs generated for you. The Service, its software, models and brand remain our property.

5. Accounts, plans and billing

Free accounts include a monthly analysis quota; paid subscriptions extend quotas and unlock additional tools, as described on the pricing page. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, renew automatically, and can be cancelled at any time from your account. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Prices may change for new subscribers; active "founding member" pricing is kept as long as the subscription remains active.

6. Refunds

Neuma is free to try. Every account includes a monthly quota of complete analyses, so you can judge the Service on your own music before paying anything. Beyond that, the following applies:

• First purchase. If the paid plan is not what you expected, write to us within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. No justification needed.
• Annual renewals. We email you before every annual renewal. If a renewal was not intended, tell us within 30 days: provided you have made little or no use of the Service since it renewed, we refund it in full.
• Billing errors. Duplicate charges, or a plan bought by mistake, are refunded.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within five to ten business days. To request one, write to hello@neuma.tools from the address on your account. Cancelling from your account stops future renewals at any time; on its own it does not refund the period already paid. Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom keep their statutory right of withdrawal, which nothing in these terms restricts.

7. Fair use

Quotas exist to keep the Service sustainable (each analysis has a real computing cost). We may throttle or refuse usage that is clearly outside personal practice (bulk automation, resale, scraping).

8. Termination

You can delete your account and its data at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including repeat copyright infringement (see the Copyright Policy).

9. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is". Automated transcription can be wrong; we make no promise of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding a claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law; place of jurisdiction is the seat of David Niederhauser, Switzerland.
